2 Online Shopping Discuss In pairs: How often do you shop online? How has online shopping affected retail shopping in your opinion? What types of products do you purchase online? E.G. Electronics, Clothes etc. Do you prefer shopping online? Why or why not?

4 We need your help! Steve Smith the managing director at (Steve Smith studios)…. Is having trouble deciding which mobile phone to buy. He has enlisted your services to help him decide which mobile phone he should buy. He has sent a letter which is on the next slide.

6 Instructions This video project consists of two tasks which will require two lessons to complete. Lesson 1: Task 1 First you will have to get information on the mobile phone you have chosen. Remember that each group member will be researching a different phone. Use the internet and additional resources provided later in the slides to obtain information about your chosen phone. Some of areas/features of the phone you could focus on are: 1) Phone design/Appearance 2) Battery life. 3) Memory 4) Price 5) Camera 6) Screen size/resolution 7) Other- Anything else that you feel adds extra value. There will be more information later in the slideshow.

7 Instructions Lesson 2 : Task 2 Now that you have collected all your information, it is now time to prepare all your main points and put them into a video. For this Task you will need to use Windows Movie Maker. (You can star in your ‘video review’ of your chosen phone or use your voice as a voiceover.) You will be required to find pictures and videos online which will be used in your video review. Once you see everyone's video review in your group you now have to discuss and debate which phone you think would be most suitable. (Debating phrases will be provided later in the slideshow) Make sure you only include the main points on why Steve Smith should buy this phone. Remember you need to convince your group to choose your phone so try to be as persuasive as possible. Note- The video review should be between 2-4 Minutes long.

8 1. Design/Appearance Some sample questions you can ask about the design/appearance (how the phone looks): 1)How many colours/styles does the phone come in? The Phone comes in …… different colours/styles 2) How heavy is the Phone? The Phone weights ….. 3) How thin/thick is the Phone? The Phone is ???mm thick.

9 2. Battery Life This relates to how long the Phone can stay on without losing power. Some possible Questions you can find the answer to are 1)How often do you need to charge your phone? 2)Does it last the whole day without charging? 3)How long can it stay on without charging?

10 3. Memory How much information can the phone store (Click here for a full definition)Click here for a full definition Some possible Questions you can find the answer to are 1)How much memory does the phone have? 2)How much does it cost to get more memory?

11 4. Price Steve Smith has a budget of £550 however he is willing to go over his budget if you can justify it. Some possible Questions you can find the answer to are: 1)How much does the Phone cost? Note- He wants to buy the phone sim-free so make sure you are looking at prices for sim-free phones and not for phones on contract!

12 5. Camera Some possible Questions you can find the answer to are: 1)How many megapixels is the camera? 2)How many cameras does the phone have? 3)What special features does the camera have?

13 6. Screen size/Resolution This refers to how big the screen is and how good the quality of the screen is. Some possible questions you can find the answer to are: 1)What is the size of the screen? 2)What is the resolution of the screen?

14 7. Other Are there any other features you think should be taken into consideration when choosing a phone.? If you think there are other key features that could persuade your other group members then do not hesitate to include them in your video review, Note- For slides 8-13, they are only some questions to help guide you. You can include other aspects that may have not been mentioned in the slides.

What's your opinion? 2) Asking for clarification/more information Could you explain that again please? Could you expand a little bit on what you said about….? Could you give me an example of…..? Could you explain in more detail? 3) Agreeing I couldn't agree more. That’s a very good point 4) Disagreeing I can see your point, but …….. I see What you mean, but…….. I agree to some extent, but……….
