2. The Good News Of Jesus Evangel – Good News Evangelist – someone who declares the Good News Evangelism – the activity of declaring Evangelical – what we believe about the Good News God has revealed it It is about the Cross The Holy Spirit applies that work

3. 2. Evangelists & the local church a.Evangelists in the N.T. – Eph.4:11;2Tim.4:5;Acts21:8;2Cor.8:18; Phil.4:2,3;Col.1:7 b. What does an evangelist look like? 1. Great desire to share the Gospel 2. Simple & clear explanation of the Gospel 3. Relate well to non-christians 4. Growing maturity as christians

4. c. Evangelists – God’s gift to the church – Eph.4:11 We need to:- 1.Pray for more evangelists 2.Recognize, equip, release & support 3.Financially support – resources & people

5. d. The evangelist’s great work – 2Tim.4:1-5 1.Commissioned by God –v.1 2.Accountable to Christ – v.1 3.Must “Preach the Word” with:- a. Urgency –v.2 b. Perseverance & patience – v.2 c. faithfulness – v.3-5
