6/28/05 www.cryinginthewilderness.org 2 For we are His workmanship, created In Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. EPHESIANS 2:10

6/28/05 www.cryinginthewilderness.org 3 FOR WE ARE HIS WORKMANSHIP We Are Unrepeatable Miracles (Psalm 139 He knows me completely I cannot hide from Him He will always guide me I am fearfully and wonderfully made All my days are ordained by Him

6/28/05 www.cryinginthewilderness.org 4 What attributes do we not share? Omnipresent, Omniscient, Omnipotent, Transcendent, Eternal, Unchangeable, Perfect and Holy, Triune What attributes of God do we share? Goodness, Love, Mercy, Patient, Truth, Faithful, Just FOR WE ARE HIS WORKMANSHIP Created in His Image – The Image of God (Gen. 1:26,27;9:6)

6/28/05 www.cryinginthewilderness.org 5 FOR WE ARE HIS WORKMANSHIP Given Spiritual Gifts by the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 12) It is important that we use the Spiritual Gifts we have been given in the manner He intended and for His glory. Romans 12; 1 Corinthians 12- 14; Galatians 6; Ephesians 4

6/28/05 www.cryinginthewilderness.org 6 CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS United to Christ by faith (Hebrews 11) United as a branch is in the vine (John 15:1-8) Nourished by Christ Supported by Christ Sustained entirely by Christ

6/28/05 www.cryinginthewilderness.org 7 NOT YOU OR SOMEONE ELSE! God’s Responsibility: To provide the resources we need to obey Him – Spiritual gifts, talents, character, training, personality, appearance, etc. (We are His workmanship!) To show us the good works that He has prepared for us. (Set up divine appointments, place us in the right place at the right time, reveal to us His will by Scripture, the Holy Spirit, Other people, etc.) To set the boundaries for our service to Him. (He’s the boss!) CREATED FOR GOOD WORKS Which God prepared beforehand

6/28/05 www.cryinginthewilderness.org 8 Our Responsibility: Believe in God and confess that Jesus is our Lord and Savior. Learn to say, “Yes Sir, my Lord.” (Romans 10:9-10) Believe in the Word of God including Ephesians 2:10. Believe that the Bible is the infallible, authoritative, rule of faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16) CREATED FOR GOOD WORKS That we should walk in

6/28/05 www.cryinginthewilderness.org 9 More of Our Responsibility: 1. Seek His face that we may know our purpose. Get to know Him by spending time in His presence. (Proverbs 3:5-6 ) 2. Understand that God is more concerned about obedience than sacrifice. We may do many “good works” but are they the ones which He prepared beforehand or are we trying to please man and extort God? (1 Samuel 15:22-23) 3. To acknowledge that we are a part of the Body of Christ and are to fit rightly into the whole Body. (1 Cor. 12:12-27) CREATED FOR GOOD WORKS That we should walk in

6/28/05 www.cryinginthewilderness.org 10 To equip us as His witnesses to be light and salt and to bring the gospel to all the world. (Matthew 5:13-16; 28:18-20) To equip us to be the “Body of Christ” on earth – loving one another and fitting rightly together in unity. (1 Cor. 12:12-27) To enable each of us to become mature attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. (Ephesians 4:13) WHAT IS GOD’S ULTIMATE PURPOSE?

6/28/05 www.cryinginthewilderness.org 11 Exalt the Lord our God (Ps. 96:1-9; Rev. 4:8-11) Evangelize the Lost for Christ (Matt. 9:37; John 4:35) Establish Mature Disciples (Col. 2:6-7; Rom. 12:1-2) Equip Workers for Effective Ministry (Eph. 4:11-13; II Tim. 2:2) 5. Empower Servant-Leaders (Matt. 20:25-28; Phil. 2:1-11 WHAT IS GOD’S PURPOSE?

6/28/05 www.cryinginthewilderness.org 12 Will We Be Held Responsible? What if the Bible is true? If not me who? If not now when?
