This will affect the whole company. ●All communication must be positive. This means the message has been communicated clearly, simply and successfully. Negative communication can lead to delays. What would happen if someone doesn’t understand something you have written or said?

There are certain things you must always record for a message: ●Date ●Time ●Contact name and details The topic can be recorded but it may be too complex. What is the most important thing to record?

Employees must follow these. ●A policy states what a company expects to be done. ●Site rules cover safety and security on site. Some policies will control rules on site.

6 Unit 1002 Information, quantities and communicating with others © Pearson Education 2010 Printing and photocopying permitted Methods of communication The main methods of communication are: ●Verbal – instant and easy to repeat, but can be forgotten ●Written – physical evidence of the message but takes longer to arrive and can be misunderstood ●Body language – quick and effective but can be misunderstood ●Electronic – instant, easy and a record of what has been sent. Can send a vast amount of information, but is reliant on signal and can be a potential security risk Which form of communication do you think we use the most?
