1  Committed to the principle that all students deserve an opportunity to participate in rigorous and academically challenging courses and programs. All students who are willing to accept the challenge of a rigorous academic curriculum should be considered for admission to AP courses.

2  Schools should make every effort to ensure that their AP classes reflect the diversity of their student population.  The Board encourages the elimination of barriers that restrict access for AP courses to students from ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic groups that have been traditionally underrepresented in the AP Program.

3  College Board believes that all students should have access to academically challenging coursework before they enroll in AP classes  It is only through a commitment to equitable preparation and access that true equity and excellence can be achieved

4  AP Govt -equivalent to 1 semester college course  Semester vs. Full year course  Introductory course- don’t go overboard  Scrambling to keep up  Learn from mistakes & victories  Fine tune your course year after year  3 year process  Caring about your kids is most important

5  - 60 Multiple Choice Questions (45 min) -50% of exam - 4 FRQs (100 minutes) - 12.5% for each FRQ for a total of 50% Time- 2 hr. and 25 min.

6  91/120 = 5 (76%)  79/90 = 4 (66-75%)  62/78 = 3 (50-65%)  42/61 = 2 (35-51%)  0/41 = 1 (0-25%)
