2 Time Zones There are 24 time zones in the world. There is one for every hour of the day. Since the earth is 360 degrees, a new time zone starts approximately every 15 degrees.

4 US Time Zones How many time zones does the US have? The US has 6 time zones! Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific, Alaskan, Hawaiian What time zone do we live in? Central

5

6 If I move east across the country, I will add to my time. I will “lose” time. Example: If I am in California and it is 7:00 p.m. and call home here in Iowa. It would be 2 time zones to the east so I have add 2 hours. It would be 9:00 p.m. If I move west across the country, I will subtract to my time. I will “gain” time. Example: If I am in New York and it is 1:00 a.m. and call my friend in Hawaii. It would be 5 time zones to the west so I have subtract 5 hours. It would be 8:00 p.m. the day before!!
