Vacation or Stay-Cation?? Your child wants to go on Spring Break with some friends. You’re not so sure if that’s a good idea. Help your child understand your point of view. Your parent doesn’t seem convinced that you should go on Spring Break with friends. Help your parent understand you’re responsible enough to go.

At Home on a Friday Night?!?! You just got your progress report. Unfortunately, your parent is disappointed in your grades and wants you to stay home tonight (Friday!) to study for your upcoming test. Convince your child that staying home to study is best. It’s the Homecoming football game tonight, but your parent doesn’t think you should go because of some of the grades on your progress report. Convince your parent that you should be allowed to go.

Getting to Know You A new student has arrived in your class. Ask questions to get to know him/her. A nice student in your new class reaches out to get to know you. Respond appropriately to his/her questions.

Time to Move! You’ve got to share bad news with your best friend – you and your family are moving to another city. Share the details of the move and devise a plan for staying in contact with one another. Your best friend just told you that he/she is moving to another city. You’re devastated! Find out details of the move and devise a plan for staying in contact with one another.

Family Reunion Nightmare You’re having a horrible time at your family reunion. Thank goodness your friend calls. Tell your friend what’s happening! When you call you friend, you find out that he/she is having a horrible time at the family reunion. Find out what’s happening then try to console your friend.

Oh no he/she didn’t! After a date gone terribly wrong, you call your friend. Tell him/her the details. You get a call from your friend. Find out what happened on the date.

Take this job! You’re excited about your first job interview. Wow the boss with your personality and qualifications! This is your last interview of the day! Find out about this candidate so you can make a good decision about whether or not to hire him/her.

Can I make that up? You didn’t do so well on a recent test. Respectfully convince your teacher that you need to redo the test. The class clown didn’t do well on the recent test and now he/she is here to try to make it up. Listen to his/her points then defend your reasons for not letting him/her make up the test.

Are you lost? While at a concert, your phone was stolen and now you can’t find the friends you came with. Ask for help from the police officer. A concert attendee is lost and needs your help. Help him/her get home.

That was amazing! Despite the heat, you had a really fun summer. On the first day of school, your teacher asks you to share with a partner what you did. Ask questions also to find out about your partner’s summer. On the first day of school, you get paired with the one person who had a great summer! Ugh! Your summer was boring, but you’re not going to admit that aloud. Every time your partner shares what he/she did, tell something ‘better’ that you did.
