2. Agenda10/3/13  Editing of proposals/Discussion about learning Homework: TTTC: By the beginning of class Friday-complete the last page of the guide. **Make sure you bring your English notebook tomorrow because you’ll be organizing it for turn-in!

3. Notes for everyone  Check out the Yes Test…  Student ID # required, letter “T” after number  Project Descriptions- should be a larger paragraph! Should cover all elements of the project- who, what, when, where, why, and how it will be done Does this proposal explain what the person will be doing for 20+ hours IN DETAIL?? Ignore the “no mentor” line. Everyone is expected to have a mentor. Do the Project Analysis Steps sound valuable and necessary? “Doing the project” or “writing my paper” are not legit steps!

4. Editing Senior Proposals Work with a partner, and work together on comments for the proposals. Remember to be respectful and professional in your commenting and editing.  Write many comments ON the proposal itself.  Circle words that are misspelled, mark lines that are unclear, etc.  Write LOTS of questions. If something is unclear or if you think they need more details, ask a question to help the writer know what you’re wondering about as the reader.  Do they cover “who/what/where/when/why and how?”  Refer to the section of the handbook that matches the type of proposal for additional details  When you’re finished writing on the proposal, use theYes Test sheet to summarize your response  Please don’t rush through this step!  Complete the Yes Test, staple it to the proposal, and return the proposal to the stack up front

5. In your notebooks:  What did you notice about your proposals today?  Any patterns of errors?  Anything you realized about your proposal in light of theirs (like, yours had a lot of detail, or yours did not have enough detail?)  And then…work time!  Finish reading and the reading guide (due at the beginning of class tomorrow)
