2  What different peoples ruled India?  Harappan, Aryan, Mauryan, Gupta, Mughal, British

3  How did these early civilizations and empires influence Indian culture?  They have influenced Language, religion, customs, scientific knowledge, social system, government

4  What were some accomplishments of the Mughal Empire?  Mughal Empire increased trade, promoted culture, practices religious tolerance, and Built the Taj Mahal

5  How might Indian history have been different if the British had not ruled India?  India might have gained independence sooner.

6  Who was the leader of India’s Independence movement ?  Mohandas Gandhi

7  What led to the partition of India?  Muslims who were afraid that they would have little in an independent India persuaded the British to partition India.

8  What is the caste system?  Caste system is a social class system that divides people into groups based on birth or occupation

9  Why do you think India is home to some of the world’s oldest religion?  The people who lived there or migrated there or conquered them have mixed their religion and have lived there for a long time.
