The Interactive Whiteboard (IWB) is an emerging technology that is transforming classrooms into more engaging, interactive learning environments. Interactive Whiteboards are large white board displays of information projected from a computer. Depending on the brand purchased and its capabilities, manipulation can be done by a pen, hand, stylus, or other instrument.

Enhances student engagement Helps to integrate technology into the curriculum Interactive learning Addresses diverse learners

Cost of equipping classrooms Computer compatibility Ongoing professional development on its uses Student engagement is short-lived (Lacina, 2009)

Interactive whiteboards open new possibilities for more engaging classroom learning. They raise the excitement level in both teaching and learning, and help increase student involvement in class.

The students are able to move the numbers/ shapes etc… The students & teachers are able to use the highlighter tool Encourages involvement from all students Students show enthusiasm for working with numbers

The mean is the arithmetic average of a group of numbers. Find the mean of a group of numbers Step 1: Add the numbers together. 7, 11, 12, 18, 23, 25 7 + 11 + 12 + 18 + 23 + 25 = 96 Step 2: Divide the sum by the number of items. 96 ÷ 6 = 16 The mean is 16. The mean is the arithmetic average of a group of numbers.
