2 Know your audience Take the time out to get to know them, what music do they like, how do they spend their spare time, what are their hopes and dreams, do they have unsolved problems etc. You could even think of it like dating, if your interested in someone, you learn all you can about them to help create experiences for them they will love and appreciate.

4 Market research, scan your environment internally and externally, what are your competitors doing? Is there someone that has a complimentary business to yours? If so is there something you can develop together that will benefit you both?

5 When you are perusing the internet for information, products or services take note on what catches your eye, what made you read an article, how did it entertain you, what feelings did it provoke, why did you click on that link over others?

6 Know what you are trying to achieve, what is your objective? Who are you? What do you want to represent? For example; I am not going to market myself simply as a consultant with standard qualities on offer, I am marketing myself as me, who I am and what value I can offer to my potential clients. I want to educate, help and inspire business’s of the Whitsundays to dream and achieve in life and in business.

7 Build a relationship with your clients and potentials, you want to build a long-term relationship not have a one nightstand or weeklong fling..

8 Experiment with different mediums, Video, Photos, comics, Memes. How will your customer interact with you? Entertain them, engage them.

9 Don’t be fearful of the unknown it’s only going to lead to you learning how to or how not, which is better then not knowing at all.

10 Generally, you are trying to turn strangers into visitors, visitors into customers and customers into evangelists. Think about how you can encourage this process, what things can you offer to help transform your customers to promoters. 11 Top ten lists, tips and tricks, how to guides are easy to read and follow, they work well in engaging readers and to keep them reading.

12 Everything should lead back to your website, ensure your messaging is consistent across all your mediums. Ensure you take into consideration all your contact points for your customers, Facebook, Email, Website, Your Staff, your processes. Even I need to be smacked on this point as mine is still under development. Please see a professional when getting your website done. Colors matter and so does layout. 13 Share more then once, If your content online remains relevant keep sharing it. Share to multiple pages, groups, every few weeks, every few months. Use #hashtags Only two or three, use words that you think people would ‘Google’ in relation to your subject

14 Be yourself, be honest, talk with them not at them, and speak to the individual not the masses.

16 Never stop learning; always keep searching for knowledge, read up on the areas in which you lack knowledge. Challenge yourself, enjoy what your are doing. You know that good old saying, ‘if you do something you love you will never work a day in your life!’ Find your Passion!

18 Review, review, review. This world changes everyday, you cant simply create one strategy and keep doing it repeatedly. Review your strategies and plans update and evolve them as necessary.
