Poe was born January 19 1809 in Boston, Massachusetts. He got married to his cousin Virginia Clemm. She was Thirteen when she married Poe. They married in Richmond. Which happened after his brother Henry died of tuberculosis. After they married they moved to New York City. In 1845 Poe wrote The Raven. Only bringing him $14.00. But considered one of his most famous. Poe would go around saying “Nevermore.” Poe wrote many poems and stories. All of his stories have something to do with death in them. The masque of the Red Death dealt with Tuberculosis. Which probably had something to do with the fact that most of Poe's loved ones died of tuberculosis.

I think Poe died from drinking. Poe was a very heavy drinker. He was a heavy drinker more particularly during his wife’s illness. There is evidence proving that drinking may have been the cause the strongest evidence comes from the hospital records though. The hospital concluded that Poe died from the effects of a debauch. debauch: Noun: A bout of excessive indulgence in sensual pleasures, esp. eating and drinking. This concludes my evidence of the drinking theory.

My favorite story by Edgar Allan Poe is The Masque of the Red Death. Because I like how it is written. Also I like how it used symbolism. The book used symbolism for the rooms. Plus for the book in general. The symbolism for the book is it means Tuberculosis.

Favorite story continued Also the book was very interesting. I enjoyed the book very much. I rated it 8/10.

In conclusion Poe had a very diffucult life. He pretty much created the base for horror stories today. Poe had to deal with losing mostly all of his loved ones. Poe’s poetry will be an important part of poetry for centuries to come. Many more theories on his death will probably come up to.
