3. What’s the Database? A database is a collection of information that is organized so that it can be easily accessed, managed, and updated. In one view, databases can be classified according to types of content: Bibliographic Full-text Numeric Images, etc. NCCU Library offers databases in two forms: CD-ROM database and online database. CD-ROM database is installed in stand-alone desktops while some parts of it are available online. Before the first time to use, please download and setup the program in your computer. Online database is authorized by the database owners. The library controls the access with IP Address. Users can have the access to the database with library ID and Password.
