3 Dalim’s Dozen Dalim’s starter pack of management tips & ideas which you can adapt and use 1.Ask why it (a task/process/deliverable etc.) is needed - encourage questioning, evaluation and understanding of the real needs of the organisation 2.Share ideas & relevant communications 3.Ask “how are you?” and note birthdays/anniversaries of relevant people (but exercise respect and discretion) 4. Recognise & value relevant experience and expertise 5.Set challenges - yardsticks/milestones/targets for yourself and your people

4 Dalim’s Dozen (slide 2) 6.Note successes (successful delivery, performance improvements, good work) and raise visibility if appropriate 7.Reward small and frequently (even by a “thank you”) as well as at major points 8.Encourage team building, group identification and identification with the organisation’s objectives 9.Lighten up - ensure it’s not all hard work, but fun too. 10.Control expectations 11.Manage up and across as well as down (as appropriate) 12.Help people to achieve and advance
