Unit Summary Students will identify different coins and their value. They will explore how many pennies go into various coin types (nickel, dime, and quarter), as well as how many of each type of coin make up a dollar. Students will learn how to count money with a value of $1.00 or less. Students will take a virtual shopping trip to buy 3 items from a teacher-generated “store”. They will fill out a chart of the items they bought, how much each item cost, and what coins they used to purchase each item. The student s will complete a storyboard, download pictures and add audio into software to make a movie of their “shopping trip”. Students will then share their movies with the class.
