1 RAF Brize Norton Community Support Team

2 For RAF personnel to be fully effective in their duties it is essential that their well being and that of their dependants is properly cared for. The RAF aims to deliver comprehensive community support to the Service, its reserve forces, their dependant communities, and where appropriate RAF veterans, incorporating access to a full social welfare service. The RAF Community Support concept does not extend to cover welfare provision on operations or the Operational Welfare Package, which are responsibilities of the MOD and the front line commands.

6 Personal and Families Social Worker Personal and Families Support Worker Provide professional, comprehensive and confidential support to forces personnel and their families. Offer advice, support and practical help on a wide range of matters such as; Benefits, separation, housing, bereavement, childcare & special needs, stress and anxiety, mental health issues, preferential treatment applications

7 Volunteers are family members and serving personnel of varying age, rank and background and work within the service community. They work as part of the dedicated welfare structure and are trained and appropriately vetted. Their work will vary according to the local circumstances, but might include the following:  befriending  providing transport  shopping or other practical support  providing a listening ear. SSAFA Volunteers

8 Citizens Advice Bureau Dedicated advice worker available for service personnel, their current and ex partners and civilian workers on station Clinics: Tuesdays, 10am - 1pm, in the Station Community Support Centre, behind the Arena club, and Thursday 9.30am - 12.30pm at the Families Centre, Ely Close, Carterton Free confidential impartial advice on any enquiry To make an appointment telephone 01993 708492 or drop in during opening hours
