6. About Køge -Køge became a borough in 1288 - and is with a picturesque downtown and the largest square outside the capital, one of the best preserved cities from the Middle Ages in the country.

8. Køge City Arms The city arms have 4 main motives Køge bridge, a king’s crown, a cross and god’s protective hand The oldest preserved print is from 1329 The implementation of Køge design line in 2004, resulted in the new city arms The old city arms are only used on special occasions

10. The Mayor Flemming Christensen The Conservative Peoples Party Flemming Christensen became mayor on 1 st January 2014

The role of the mayor -The mayor is elected from among the town council members -Leads political negotiations, including council meetings held every month and the meetings in the economical committee - twice a month -Head of the administration and it is the mayor’s responsibility to ensure that administrative standards are respected -Represents the municipality of Køge and conducts wedding ceremonies – about 110 civil marriage ceremonies every year
