4 Labor Day Travel Plans August 31, 2015 © TNS 2015 Purpose and methodology Purpose Economic changes impact all industries, but the dependence of the travel and hospitality industry on discretionary spending makes it particularly vulnerable to changes. In response, TNS has developed this ongoing original research to help the industry cope with the business environment. This report notes the impact of traffic and congestion of Labor Day travel decisions. Methodology The U.S. Travel Labor Day travel plans survey was conducted on August 19-20, 2015, utilizing TNS’ weekly Internet based omnibus study platform that draws from more than 1.2 million pre-recruited households on its Access Panel. TNS secured 2,500 completes for the Labor Day survey. Sample consisted of general population males and females over the age of 18 and representative of gender, geographic division, income, household size, household designation and market size. The survey has a margin of error of +/-2%. About TNS TNS is the leading worldwide provider of custom market research.
