17 What is “Naishinten” ? ☆ ”Naishinten” : Cumulative score of one’s performance in 9 subjects (on a 5-point scale) ( Total point value of report card. 45 is a perfect score ) Primarily one’s third year grades will be evaluated. Candidate decisions are based on exam scores and “naishinten” so grades during one’s third year are very important.

18 By When Should I Make My Decision? Try to make the decision to continue school or to start work by October. Should you decide to continue school, you will decide which of the following paths (A~D) you will take at the parent meeting in December. A: Take entrance exams for private schools only. B: Take exams for both private and public schools. C: Take exams for public schools only. D: Take exams for technical / part-time high school.
