2 Las reglas Use the indicative (typical endings) before “que” and the subjunctive (opposite endings) after “que.” There should be 2 different subjects in order to use the subjunctive.

3 Subjunctive – 2 subjects! Quiero que estudies mucho. –I want you to study a lot. Ella espera que sus amigos vengan a la fiesta. –She hopes that her friends come to the party.

4 Infinitive – 1 subject! I want to visit more places. –Quiero visitar más lugares. She wants to win the lottery. –Ella quiere ganar la lotería.
