in Spanish

2 Sentence Structure Be careful when forming sentences in Spanish. *You only put one conjugated verb in each simple sentence. Ex. Ella habla. However, you may add one to two infinitives to a helping verb. Ex. Ella puede hablar español. You may also add an –ing form to a conjugated form of the helping verb ESTAR. Ex. Ella está hablando español.

3 Sentence Structure You can have compound sentences or compound verbs.
Ex. Juan habla y María habla, también. Juan come y habla. However, each verb is treated with the same rules as previously stated.

Be careful when forming sentences in Spanish. *You only put one conjugated verb in each simple sentence. Hablo en inglés.. No hablo bien el español. Quiero hablar en español. Puedo hablar con la práctica. Quiero intentar hablar en español. Necesito practicar mucho. Tengo que tener paciencia.

5 When you use verbs like gustar, there is one rule for nouns.
With nouns— 1 noun gusta nouns gustan encanta encantan importa importan interesa interesan

6 Ejemplos: Me gusta helado. singular noun Me gustan
chocolate caliente y galletas, también. plural nouns

7 The rule is different for verbs with gustar, encantar, interesar, and importar.
With verbs, no matter how many, use only gusta encanta interesa importa

8 Ejemplos: Me gusta bailar. one verb
Me gusta ir a fiesta, bailar, y cantar. up to a million verbs
