1. A guide to take the GEO & DBSP’s Entrepreneurial Assessment Tests Go to http://edu.geo.partners

2. What will you see first? Once you click on http://edu.geo.partners, you will see this screenhttp://edu.geo.partners It may not look exactly like this because the picture may be different, but the top blue block will always be the same.

3. What will you need to do first? First of all you need to create an account so that you can log onto the system. To do this click on the “Log in button”

4. First things first, you will need to pay for the course. To be taken to this page, click on ‘web store’ button

5. You will see this page come up Click on the picture or on the words “Purchase Assessments”

6. On this page click the “Buy Now” button next to the heading that says “Entrepreneurial Assessment – ZA” YOU MUST SELECT THIS ONE AND NOT THE ONE ABOVE.

7. On this page, you have 2 payment options: Option 1 = pay with your credit card. In this case click “Checkout” Option 2 = pay with a voucher. You can get a voucher from the person that told you about this test.

8. If paying with a voucher…. The Entrepreneurial Assessment Test costs R100 if you “pay” with a voucher. Once you have paid you will receive a voucher. Put your voucher into this block and then hit “Checkout:

9. Now you need to register yourself on the system. Click on the “Create an account” button

10. You will need to fill in your details in the blocks provided – BOTH the Account Details and Contact Details. Hint = Write your password down!

11. In the “Contact Details” section the first thing to do is to change country. You see it says “UNITED STATES”. Change this to “SOUTH AFRICA”. This will change the blocks you need to fill in slightly – look at the “State/Region” block on the right. In this block fill in your province abbreviation. So for Gauteng this will be “GP”. For KwaZulu Natal, this will be “KZN” Block put

12. Once you have filled in ALL your details, press “Create Account”

13. The system will now send you an e-mail that looks like this. It is ABSOLUTELY VITAL that you CLICK ON THE LINK in the e-mail

14. The link in the e-mail, will take you back to this page here. Now log in with your user name and password you created when registering.

15. You will then see this page come up …

16. FIRST before doing anything, you will need to check you are in the correct place on the system. Click the “ENGLISH (EN) button in the blue block on the top of your screen next to the word “Organization”. A drop down menu will appear. Make sure you select “ENGLISH (EN- ZA)

17. Now click on the words that say “DBSP ENTREPRENEURIAL ASSESSMENTS …”

18. This will bring up the following page…. Which you will need to read through very carefully

19. This is the main page that every part of this assessment comes back to. You will notice that there are 7 elements on this page: 1)Step 1 = The DBSP and GEO consent agreement form 2)Step 2 = A set of instructions 3)Questionnaire # 1 – To assess your previous experience 4)Questionnaire # 2 – To assess your entrepreneurial inclination 5)Questionnaire # 3 – To assess your risk taking ability 6)Questionnair4 # 4 – To assess your problem solving ability 7)Get your results here. I will now deal with each of these separately

20. Step 1 = The DBSP and GEO consent agreement form YOU HAVE TO AGREE TO WHAT IS WRITTEN IN THIS DOCUMENT OR ELSE YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PROCEED.

21. Once you click on the agreement, you will see this….

22. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the “Attempt quiz now” button, even though it is not a quiz at all. (Sorry, we cannot change the name of the button)

23. This is what will come up next Click on the “Start attempt” button

24. You will see this screen. Here you need to do 2 things: 1)Click the “I agree to abide by this document” button 2)Once done, click the “Next”button

25. This is what you will see. Click the “Submit all and finish” button.

26. This is what you will then see. Click the “Submit all and finish button”

27. Do not be surprised when this screen pops up again, just scroll down to the bottom and ….

28. You will see this. Now click on the “Back to the course” button.

29. You will now be back to this WELCOME screen You can now go to STEP 2 – Read the instructions although this is not a necessary step.

30. Once you have done all of this, you are ready to take your first questionnaire. Scroll down until you see Questionnaire # 1. Click on it

31. This will take you back to the WELCOME page…. Scroll down until you get to Questionnaire # 1 again

32. Once you scroll to Questionnaire # 1 again, click on this block

33. This is the screen that will come up. Press the “Attempt quiz now” button

34. Press “Start attempt”

35. The first question will be displayed. 1) Read the question and all the possible answers, then 2) click on the answer that best suits you, you will see the circle gets coloured in. Once you have done this, 3) click “Next” 1. 2. 3.

36. NOTE: that some questions require more than 1 answer. You can identify these questions in 2 ways: 1) There is wording to say “You can select multiple answers” and 2) The selection areas are square and not round. 2. 1.

37. In the example on the left question 56 and 64 remain unanswered. Hint: If I were to go to question 56 and answer it, then hit the “Next” button the system will take me to Q 57, then Q 58 and so on. So after answering Q 56, place your cursor directly on Q 80 and click. This will save you time. Navigation – you can see where you are in the process and also see if you have missed out any questions from the convenient panel to the one side of the questions. When the blocks are grey they have been answered, white for unanswered. You can click on any of the blocks to move directly to that question.

38. Once you have answered the last question in the range and you hit the ‘Next’ button you will see the following pop up. As you scan through the numbers with the “Answer saved” next to them, if you have missed out a question, it will say “Not yet answered” and you can then go back and answer these.

39. At the bottom of this page you will see 2 blocks. If you have not answered all the questions, click on the “Return to Attempt” button. Once all the questions have been answered, hit the “Submit all and finish” button.

40. When you hit the “Submit all and finish” You will see the following pop up … Click on this confirmation “Submit all and finish” button

41. The system will then show you your score for the section you have just completed. It will show you 1) Your score. 2) a feedback comment. 3) your final grade out of … Finally there is a button you need to press 4) “Back to the course” 1. 2. 3. 4.

42. You will now find yourself on the WELCOME screen again. Scroll down until you see the questionnaires. Select the next one and click on the actual bold writing.

43. Once you have clicked on it, you will see the actual icon pop up where you can click to take the next questionnaire. This will open up the page with the questions and then you just answer the questions as has been explained above. The icon looks like this

44. Repeat the process until you have done all 4 of the assessment questionnaires. Once done, you will see that after questionnaire 4 there is a block that says “GET YOUR RESULTS HERE”. Inside this block there is some writing in italics and underlined that says “Cumulative score” Click on these words.

45. There are various things on this page: On the right of the questionnaire titles you will find: 1) the score you got for each section. 2) Out of how much, 3) Your percentage, 4) a comment about each section, 5) Your overall score, 6) Your overall percentage. 7) A comment about your level of entrepreneurial inclination. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.

46. ENJOY TAKING THE ENTREPRENEURIAL ASSESSMENT TEST! Oh yes, and by the way, if you get stuck at any stage, either phone the person that introduced you to the test, or… someone will get back to you! You will see that on each page in the test, there is a block that looks like this. Click on the block and it sends a message through to our help desk and
