3  Marsupials have been found in the Americas, Australia, and New Guinea. Because the regions are far apart, scientists believe that they were all part of one continent where marsupials originated, and were split by plate tectonics.

5  Convergent: Two species with different ancestries evolve in similar ways, developing into similar organisms.  Ex: Birds and Bats

6  Divergent: A group of the same species develop different characteristics, evolving into new species.  Ex: Monkeys and Humans

7  When the Panama isthmus formed animals from South America Migrated to North America and Vice Versa  The new habitat caused the animals to adapt and evolve into variations of their former species for the new climate
