15 ABYC Competency Model Region Q and R Workforce Development Boards Develop competencies for Boat Builders in Eastern North Carolina for National Apprenticeship Model Using Incumbent Worker Grants funds Partners: College of the Albemarle, Region R & Q, and NC Labor Apprenticeship

16 ABYC Competency Model Develop ACT task analysis for boat builder occupations Develop Act skill levels, curricula, and related instruction training Develop apprenticeship competency-based work processes for on-the-job training

17 Youth Initiative NC Capital Area Workforce Development Board received a USDOL ETA $550,000 youth grant Goal to establish a construction trades program (Project New Build) Partner with Wake Technical College and NC Labor

18 Youth Initiative Provide 30 at-risk youth pre-apprenticeship training in the construction trades Receive Career Readiness Certificates (CRC): Platinum, Gold and Bronze Place the Project New Build completers into existing and new apprenticeship programs Leverage New Build successes, Department of Public Instruction initiatives and Home Builders Associations to develop Construction Academy
