Fee waivers are available for students on free/reduced lunch. A total of two fee waivers may be used while in high school. All juniors will take the ACT free of charge at WEHS on March 1, 2015.

In order to be considered as Warren East’s representative, you must complete an essay and submit it to Ms. Anderson in guidance. The essay’s topic usually comes around mid October and is due right before Thanksgiving Break. HOBY is a youth leadership development organization. One of the many things they do is organize summer Leadership Seminars. Seminars are usually a 4-day overnight experience on a college campus in the state of Kentucky. In 2013, Transylvania University was the host school.

What is it? For three weeks every summer, over 200 of Kentucky’s most talented and creative high school students are invited to grow and learn together at the Governor’s School for the Arts’ college summer residence program. Rising juniors and seniors in high school are offered in-depth instruction in one of nine artistic disciplines: architecture + design, creative writing, dance, drama, instrumental music, musical theatre, new media, visual art, and vocal music. Art Shops On a smaller scale than GSA’s summer program, ArtShops provide a similar immersion experience. Each fall, GSA schedules four workshops in communities throughout Kentucky. The purpose of these ArtShops is to provide high school freshmen, sophomores and juniors with the opportunity to spend a day in a facility close to their hometown in a hands-on arts enrichment opportunity.
