2 Adverbs Adverbs describe verbs – they show us ‘how’ the action is carried out. Adverbs sometimes end in “ly”. For example: The little boy scraped his knee and cried loudly.

3 Adverbs Adverbs are words that modify (describe) verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs. Adverbs tell how, when, where, how often, and how much. Now look through your Writers Express book and find some different types of adverbs.
