2. You may have had some experience in this area, but for many of you none at all. Here is a brief explanation in what to expect from this course.

3. According to a work-related survey, hairdressers and beauty therapists are the happiest people in the workplace, that’s because to work and study in the profession is FUN!! The way we study will be broken down into two areas, a practical element and a theory element. BOTH elements are as equally important to the overall subject as each other. The practical will give you the practical skills The theory the insight, understanding and knowledge you need to perform treatments in a safe and professional manner.

4. You will need to pass BOTH elements of the course to gain your qualification.

5. The Theory The theory behind any type of professional practice is essential. In this course you will look at the following areas in detail. You will then be expected to complete a number of assignments tasks relating to them. The unit titles are: How to follow health and safety practices in the salon Client care and communication in beauty related industries.

The Practical From the practical lessons you can expect: To study a range of beauty and hair treatments from facials, manicures, pedicures to hair washing, drying and styling and even make up and nail art. To behave, dress and present yourself as an industry professional. To work on other students and allow other students to work on you, eventually leading to working on ‘real life ‘clients

7. The salon is your learning environment and will be run as professional area. There will be an expectation to treat it like you would a place of work and in turn ensure that everyone feels safe and secure in their working environment.
