4 Main Duties  Diagnose diseases or abnormal animal and perform laboratory tests.  Treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medicine, dressing wounds and you may have to perform a surgery.  Perform emergency examination if working in an emergency clinic  Vaccinate animals to prevent them from diseases  Provide obstetrical and dental services  Give advice to clients on feeding, housing, breeding, hygiene and general care of animals  Provide anesthetic services to patients Special Duties  Veterinarians may also choose to perform research which may be similar to biologists.

5 Working Conditions  A normal controlled environment such as an office, hospital or school.  An outdoor work environment where the worker is exposed to variations in weather conditions and weather patterns.  Exposure to infectious bacteria and viruses can cause illness to the doctor  Work near or with equipment, instruments and anesthetic machinery if needed.  The presence of noxious, intense or prolonged odors in the work environment.
