I’m a good swimmer so I’m not __________________ capsizing. It __________________ fantastic to race in a canoe slalom. Once they have completed the text they will need to write their own. The blue box gives them some structure. Help the student to write down their thoughts. 3 More, Less, er The panda has more feet. The kangaroo has less feet.
The panda has a smaller tail. The kangaroo has a larger tail. Student completes a writing activity to compare the differences between the two animals. Examples are given in the blue box. 4 Come to Australia People and Animals
The kangaroo has got a long tail, short front legs and a big pouch. In the pouch there’s a baby kangaraoo! It’s called a ‘joey’. This is a boomerang. The first in habitants of Australia, called aborigines, used this to hunt. Now they are just for fun! The aboriginal culture represents nature. They have a traditional instrument called the didgeridoo. The koala lives in the forest. Its name is an aborigine word, it means ‘no water’. Koalas don’t drink, but they eat lots of eucalyptus leaves! Koalas sleep for about 18 hours a day!

5 Come to Australia Geography
Sydney is a big multiculural city. This is the famous opera house. Come to Australia Geography Uluru (Ayres Rock) is a magnificent rock which changes colour during the day. It’s pink, orange, red, brown.... On the Great Barrier Reef you can see lots of colourful fish and coral. Canberra is the capital of Australia Tasmania is a beautiful island. The capital is Hobart. You can visit beaches, national parks and mountains The Pinnacles Desert is in Western Australia

6 Party Time! It’s my birthday today! I’m eleven! Yipee!
Read Jane’s diary. What’s her favourite drink? Jane makes her own drink. It’s called a “Sunny Milkshake” Make a drink with your teacher! What’s in the drink? April 20th It’s my birthday today! I’m eleven! Yipee! I’ve got some fantastic presents and we’ve got some wonderful food for my party. We haven’t got any popcorn, but we’ve got hamburgers and crisps and my huge chocolate birthday cake! And there’s my favourite drink – Sunny Milkshake. It’s milk with some oranges, bananas and ice cream in it. It’s delicious! I want to play my favourite picture and word game with my friends at the party. After that, we can dance to some amazing music because I’ve got three new CDs. Wow! I’m so excited! Complete the sentences.
