2. Ideas  Literacy groups - Roles given to students ahead of time.  Switching roles within the period - Forces the students to think from multiple perspectives.  Using a teamwork rubric - Giving rubric to students in advance.

3. Ideas cont.  Having students assess themselves on teamwork skills.  Teacher observes and assess how teams are interacting.  Having group members and parents sign a contract. Allows for choice in group members.

4. In Social Studies  Start with larger group and break down into pairs to create specific content.  Preview activities for each chapter set the stage for learning are done.  Model teamwork skills with the class.
