This is my 23rd year teaching at the elementary level Certified to teach elementary and high school levels Middle School Endorsements in Math, Language Arts, and Social Studies Approvals in English as a Second Language and Spanish National Board Certified Teacher

Communicate with me frequently Complete needed forms in a timely manner Make sure your child is prepared for class with needed materials included eye glasses Encourage your child to follow school rules Supervise homework completion Monitor Math Spiral Notebook Provide quiet, well lit, well supplied place to study Send absence letters when your child is absent

Bring two sharpened pencil to class everyday One marking pen: red, green, or purple any color but black and blue o Math text book o Math Spiral Notebook o Take Home Folder

Visit www.isbe.net to see your child’s Common Core Standardswww.isbe.net We will cover five different subcategories of math: 1) Numbers and Operations in Base Ten, 2) Numbers and Operations in Fractions, 3) Measurement and Data, 4) Operations and Algebraic Thinking and 5) Geometry

Consequences: Talk with child 3x’s Communicate with parent via email, phone call, or conference Student will earn up to five points of extra credit for completing homework Rewards: Unit Certificates of Growth and Good Behavior Links (educational movie)

Homework should be written in Math Notebook Parents are encouraged to initial math homework, test, quizzes, etc. Homework can also be found on our school website at http://philiprogersschool.org http://philiprogersschool.org Homework should take 40 minutes per day

Math Spiral Notebooks should come home every night Your child should NOT use a calculator when completing homework unless stated otherwise. Students should show all their work. Ask your child what they learned in class based on their note taking Ask child to keep their notebook organized

If your child is absent, please call the school at 773 534-2125 to report the absence When your child returns to school, an absence note is needed for legal purposes

If student receives three homework and/or behavior warnings, parent(s) will be emailed or called for support. If student receives six homework and/or behavior warnings, parent(s) will be asked to come in for a parent conference. Blue Ticket: Homework/ Yellow Ticket: Behavior Issue
