The Maori workforce needs to be bold, be smart, be creative, be strategic, be sympathetic, but most of all BE Maori. Kaupapa Maori approaches need to form the foundation of their work with whanau. A collective workforce will be mobilised, a movement will be formed, but more importantly whanau will be transformed.

4 Messages from the Wananga... Whanau Ora promotes whanau, hapu and iwi as drivers of positive change. Our tipuna passed down their knowledge through iwi korero, waiata, karakia and haka. These are situations unique to our people. They allow us to revitalize the essence of who we are. Whanau Ora heralds a transformation in our own lifetime. We leave behind the industry of misery to focus on how to achieve the best outcomes for whanau. Wheturangi Walsh-Tapiata- CEO Te Korowai Aroha o Aotearoa Inc, Taihauauru RLG

5 Messages cont... The transformation is based on the premise that whanau are the best people to take ownership of their solutions; whanau must be empowered and supported as a whole, to achieve the best outcomes. Singing the same song so that whanau are not confused. It is not about the ching, ching, or about the bling, bling. We just want to make the World dance.
