2. The Computers in our Class We have 3 computers in our classroom Each computer is available for you to use everyday. The computers are located in the back of the classroom.

3. When can I use the Computer? Twice a week during station time Once a week during computer lab Any day after you finish your class work Any day during indoor free time

5. B e a responsible user Follow directions Login in under your name Obey copyright laws Only get on sites that have been approved by your teacher

6. Y ou should raise your hand if you need help or If a gray box pops up If you get into the wrong program If the anything strange or unusual pops up on the screen

7. T ake care of the computers Never eat or drink around the computers Never hit or kick the computer Don’t try to fix the computer by yourself Don’t unplug the computer to turn it off Dust the computers every Friday

E xplore only the programs you have been taught how to use Throughout the year many programs will be made available to you. –Examples: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point, Microsoft Excel, Kid Pix, and Accelerated Reader You will be learning how to operate these programs in Computer Lab Never bring programs from home and try to use them in the classroom computers.

9. What is Accelerated Reader? A program that helps increase your reading skills Students can read a book on their level and then take a test on the book to earn AR Bucks AR Bucks can be spent once a month at the AR Bazaar.

Other Technologies Computer Lab –30 computers with Internet access –Students will go once a week –Students will learn how to operate several different programs After School Computer Lab –Is available 4 times a month –Sign up sheets are available outside the computer lab Laptop Checkout –Laptops are available for students to checkout – a short introduction workshop and parent’s signature are required before checkout.
