8 Portorož, Slovenia 29 th September 2005 « ADEME’s networking approach to innovation for sustainable development » Céline Phillips, French Agency for the Environment and Energy Mangement Conclusions Innovation will only occur if science, technics, users and regulators cooperate and exchange knowledge Sustainable development implies that the market cannot be the only driver – environmental and social performance must also be taken into consideration and a wider range of players involved Research and innovation networks which enable: –cooperation within R&D projects –Integration of muliple actors in policy-making are now proven to be a valid tool for ADEME’s public intervention
