Testing Strategy By testing my website, I hope it will work the way it should and be a good website for users. This means it needs to be easy accessible and all the links work perfect. I will test each page and test things at random from pictures to links. This is called Technical Testing. I will then get my peers to test my website who will then let me know how to improve it. This is called User Testing.

Technical Testing Test NumberTest ItemHow it is testedExpected outcomeActual outcomeChanges 1Image on main page is good quality Physical check. 1 image showing venue and activities. None needed to be made. 2Navigation buttons on each page. Each button clicked to check if it is working. Navigate to section of website successfully. As expected.None. 3Previous button on every page Click it and see if it takes the user to the previous page… Navigate to previous page from anywhere on the site. All working expect home button page. Re-link and retested – all working fine now. 4Pictures scroll once on slide show mode on the gallery section. Physical check. The pictures on the gallery page to scroll from left to right when on slide show mode. Sticks halfway through the loop. Now fixed – this is all working and loops when on slideshow mode. 5The wave animation on the Ravefest title on the home page. Physical look check. The title ‘Ravefest’ goes in a wave motion. The title does go in a wave motion once the slideshow has started Nothing needed to be amended. 6Name spellings on the line-up Physical spell check. All the spellings to be correct. One word needs spell checking as it was spelt incorrect Spell check correct my mistake. 7Colour scheme throughout the website is clear Physical check. The colours to go well with the background. Colour uses are good as the background is black and red and yellow have been used. None! 8Logo Consistent on each slide There to be the logo on each page of the PowerPoint. There is a Ravefest logo in the bottom left of the page on each slide They are all there and no more are needed to be added to the website… 9Music on the bottom right of the left of certain pages plays Hearing check. Click it. The music to play once the ‘youtube’ red play button has been clicked. Two of the three music files played but the other failed to work. The files was removed and re added. Therefore it now works. 10Graph on the contact page shows clear information Physical check The data on the graph shows the attendance of people at previous Ravefests. It shows the growth of attendance which is correct and lets the user know how popular my rave is. None needed. All the figures are correct.

User Testing TestUser 1User 2 Age15 Male or femaleMale Was it easy to find the information you needed? Yes, very easy!!The layout was simple enough for me… Where the links logical?Yeah, of course! They moved onto the next page straight away.. hm I would say so to be honest yes! What acts and facilities are available from this website? Tickets and the booking links…Merchandise was available which was a nice feature What is your opinion about the interactivity? It is like a real website, the colours make everything stand out. Very good example. It’s good, not the best I’ve seen but it has music and videos which is a good start… Was there anything irrelevant? All the contact links, there are too many and most people don’t use things like Google+ etc. The graph on the contact page. How would you rate the professionalism of the site? 9/108/10 Suggest further improvementsI couldn’t design one better, so I cannot suggest any improvements. More information on the pages would make it a lot better!!

Evaluative Testing All the hyperlinks to work All the hyperlinks work fine and the buttons move onto each page as they should. Have all the info needed All the information is in the website and it has everything you need to get there, ticket prices etc. Clear information The layout of my website is satisfactory. It is easy accessible and can be used by any ages who wish to visit my site. Make it realistic My website is realistic and is good to look at. Many people will agree with me. Include music on each slide My website doesn’t have music on each slide although it does on a few… Picture animations It has clear picture animations on the ‘gallery’ page. Clear buttons The buttons are as clear as possible. They are all displayed at the top of the slide. Easy to use The website is easy enough to use, it can be used at all ages Colour scheme which stands out to users The colour scheme is very good. There is a black background throughout with bright colours such as yellow and red running through. Good pictures to attract people to the site The pictures will attract people to the website and will draw them in bringing more attendance at ‘Ravefest’.

Evaluative Testing cont. Did you work efficiently? I decided not to use master slide but with hindsight, I will probably use it next time because if I decide to add more slides, the hyperlinks will be added automatically. Is your PowerPoint accessible to people with disabilities? The use of colour is good, with a black background and bright text. The layout is simple which also helps for people with disabilities. Identify how you could improve you work in future I used spell check to spot spelling mistakes and the correct software which was Microsoft PowerPoint, this seemed to be the best choice because it allowed me to add animations and functions. Improving my work – Strengths and weaknesses How could work be checked for mistakes in the future? An English teacher could read over my work and c heck for spelling mistakes which could then be rectified. Was the choice of software the correct one or would you choose another one in future? Personally, I think the choice of software was correct and my presentation could not run much smoother… Although, I would try a different software in future, just to see the differences. Do all the features of your chosen software add anything to your final product – Are there other features you would include in future? I have added quite a lot of features e.g. animations, buttons etc. There are not many more I can think of that would make my PowerPoint much better Should you have learned how to use a new technology or software that was better fit for the purpose? I cannot think of any software's which do the job much better than PowerPoint. So I am happy with my decision! How could you be more efficient? Is the menu system at the front of your product simple and easy to use? The menu system is simple and easy to use. It is displayed at the top of every slide for easy access to other pages… Should your PowerPoint be saved as HTML or another file format so that it can be viewed across the web? My PowerPoint is saved as a.ppt, this is just the usual PowerPoint saving format, it is being sent in for marking so therefore it is saved as this. Although if I was to actively publish it to the internet it would be saved as.html. Did you use slide master in your PowerPoint? What did this allow you to do? In my PowerPoint, I did not used slide master as I found it easier to put the links on one by one. It just depends which one you prefer, but I just went down the easier road and followed the one I knew! Could you use keyboard shortcuts AND / OR bookmark useful websites for future reference? To be more efficient, you could use keyboard links, although I did not have time to do this and thought it was not needed at present. In future to make it better, I will add keyboard shortcuts. Accessibility of your website Are colour schemes ok for people with SEN e.g. Dyslexia? The colour schemes work great with a huge contrast. All the backgrounds are black and the font is bright, either yellow, red or orange!! So it will help people with SEN in a great way! Can people with visual impairment access the site e.g. ALT tags? People with visual impairment cannot access the site, this is something which needs to be improved on. I thought this was too complex for my understanding and did not know where to start… What could you do to improve your site to provide access for all? My site caters for everyone except visually impaired people. This is a huge design flaw. If I was to redo my presentation, this would be the first thing on which I would correct. Therefore it would then be able to provide access for everyone.
