THE HARVEST By Josh, Patrick, and Sebastian

2 Plot Summary The plot of the story is where these young boys wonder what old Don Trine does everyday. So they try to find out as they spy on him the next day. But they did not expect what they saw They thought that Don Trine had some hidden money, but what they found had nothing to do with money at all. What he was really doing was digging holes and feeling the inside of them.

3 Characterization The Characters of The Harvest, are a couple of boys and old Don Trine. The boys think Don Trine is rich even though he does not show it because he never appears to buy anything, and food rarely. They all get this scheme to follow Don Trine to where his secret passage you goes through leads. But they find out he wasn’t rich and that old Don Trine was just a man who loves the earth. Then they make there leave. Later on of the boys who went to see what Don Trine was doing went to a field and he repeated the process he watched Trine do, and he felt the same way as Trine did and he enjoyed doing the same thing Trine did.

4 Rising action and Climax
The rising action of the story is where they young boys are following Don Trine to where he always goes, and Trine always got infuriated when someone would offer to walk him. To the boys, Don Trine was a rich old man, and they wanted to steal the money. The climax of the story is when they find out what he really did in the ditch they followed him to.

5 Falling action and Resolution
The falling action of the story is when the boys leave and they ignore Don Trine and everything returns to normal. The resolution of the story is after there little “investigation” they lose interest, however, one of the boys does not lose interest at all. And he later on recreates the digging that Don Trine did and he likes it just as much as Trine did.

6 Literary elements The frost that killed at night. This is an example of personification , because the frost does not literally try to kill the night plants.

7 Timeline The timeline of The Harvest is in October and it is the time after the harvest of the land had occurred.

8 Point of View The Story is told in the 3rd person.
