3 V.05312008 |© OverDrive, Inc. 2008 | Page 3 What is Content Reserve 'Marketplace'?  'Marketplace' is OverDrive's online interface for collection development.  Purchase download titles with the ease and speed of an online bookstore.  It's easy! Add titles to your cart, and submit your purchase order.

4 V.05312008 |© OverDrive, Inc. 2008 | Page 4 What formats are available? OverDrive currently offers eBooks (Adobe & Mobipocket), Audiobooks, Music, and Video. Be sure to select titles in formats that are currently hosted on your OverDrive Digital Library site.

One Copy – One User  When a title is purchased, a copy of that title is added to your download collection.  When a patron checks out a title, it is removed from circulation.  Patrons may request a checked out title by placing a hold.  Selectors may always purchase additional copies of popular titles. Maximum Access  Annual subscription.  One copy is available for unlimited simultaneous checkouts.  Titles will always be available for your patrons.  Holds are never necessary.

Each issue includes information on new releases, must-read titles, and popular best sellers! Sign up for 'ContentWire' on the Home Page of 'Marketplace'.

7 V.05312008 |© OverDrive, Inc. 2008 | Page 7 Preview titles for 24 hours – Free! When the 'Preview' feature is enabled you may download an entire title for 24 hours before purchasing. To request the 'Preview' feature, email your OverDrive project manager. Include your Content Reserve Login ID and IP address / range.

An alert is also provided when a title is already owned by the library / consortium. QUICK TIP: Watch for information regarding potential selections!

9 V.05312008 |© OverDrive, Inc. 2008 | Page 9 Enhanced Titles and Public Performance titles: These titles include supplemental material such as liner notes or mobile versions of a video title. While browsing, click on the 'Enhanced' text to learn more. Public Performance Permitted : Video titles with this notation are licensed for viewing with a group in a public place, such as a classroom or church setting. Titles without the 'public performance' designation are licensed for home and personal use only. This information will also display on your public facing digital library site.

10 V.05312008 |© OverDrive, Inc. 2008 | Page 10 AudioFile Reviews Watch for AudioFile reviews:  Many titles include AudioFile reviews on the detail page.  Over 20,000 audiobook reviews are available. New reviews are added regularly.  For more information and to add AudioFile reviews to your site, login to Content Reserve and go to: Home > Premium Reviews.

OverDrive Community Reserve is a digital resource sharing service that enables participating libraries to upload and share download titles. Suggested content: Local historical documents, educational materials, locally produced video or music, or anything libraries feel will benefit their patrons. Benefits: Increases the value of your collection. Downloads count as circulation. Interested in learning more? Contact your OverDrive project manager. MusicVideoeBooks Audio Upload your own content.Add free content from other libraries.

12 V.05312008 |© OverDrive, Inc. 2008 | Page 12 Download Standing Order Plans (DSOP) Benefits:  Add best-selling titles automatically.  Build holds for popular titles.  Save time and effort.  Simplify budget planning. How it works:  Similar to standing orders for physical titles.  Minimum bib-records will be added to your OverDrive Digital Library.  Email alerts will be sent each month to confirm the estimated titles and cost.

13 V.05312008 |© OverDrive, Inc. 2008 | Page 13 Holds Manager - Monitor your holds automatically! Use the Holds Manager to monitor and fill holds automatically.  It's easy to use! Select a holds ratio, monthly budget, frequency, and maximum title limits.  Save your order and let Holds Manager do the work for you.  To get started, go to: Collection Tab > Holds Manager.

14 V.05312008 |© OverDrive, Inc. 2008 | Page 14 How do I get started? 1. Login to Content Reserve. 2. Browse or search for titles. 3. Add titles to your cart. 4. Complete your purchase order. 5. Titles become available for patrons within 24 hours. Need a Login ID? If you are part of the selection team for your OverDrive Digital Library, contact your library's OverDrive administrator.

Use the 'Collection' tab to help manage workflow for all your account users.  Continue Work : View all orders for your account, merge, and submit P.O.s.  Maximum Access : View, manage, and submit Maximum Access orders.  Clear Work Queue: Delete select lists (carts) from your account. Content Reserve > Collection tab > Content Reserve Collection Tools.

17 V.05312008 |© OverDrive, Inc. 2008 | Page 17 User Rights User rights can be used to help facilitate workflow for the library's selectors. SL (Submit List) & DL (Delete List): We recommend only users who have final content approval should be assigned SL (Submit List) and DL (Delete List). MU (Manage Admin Users): This permission should be restricted to one or two staff. It allows a user to create additional logins and potentially enable additional permissions. OverDrive Community Reserve: 'Local Collection' and 'Manage Collection' rights are needed. For more information, go to: Content Reserve > Support tab > User Rights Documentation. Content Reserve > Users tab.

18 V.05312008 |© OverDrive, Inc. 2008 | Page 18 Consortium Invoicing: Selectors submitting orders for a single location. Purpose: Setup accurate invoicing of content orders. Instructions: Complete the following setup for every selector who will be submitting purchase orders for a single location.  Go to: User tab > Add new user.  Create the user account, and be sure to assign the SL (Submit Select List) user right.  Enter the location name to be invoiced into the 'Description' field.  Example: If a librarian from Westville submits purchase orders on behalf of Westville only, type 'Westville Public Library' in the 'Description' field. Content Reserve > Users tab.

19 V.05312008 |© OverDrive, Inc. 2008 | Page 19 Consortium Invoicing: Selectors submitting orders for multiple locations. Purpose: Setup accurate invoicing of content orders. Instructions: Complete the following setup for every selector who will be submitting purchase orders on behalf of multiple locations. 1. Go to: User tab > Add new user. 2. For the first location, create a user account, and include the following:  Add the location name to the login ID sequence. For example: consortium.lib.librarian_westville.  Be sure to assign the SL (Submit Select List) user right.  Enter the location to be invoiced in the 'Description' field. 3. Repeat the steps above for each additional location to be billed. Content Reserve > Users tab.

21 V.05312008 |© OverDrive, Inc. 2008 | Page 21 Reports Many reports are available!  Current Waiting List: View titles currently on hold.  Purchased Title Report: View all titles owned plus checkouts, holds, and turnover rates for each title.  Activity Charts: View borrowing activity.  Digital Library Statistics: View summary statistics including titles, checkouts, holds, and borrowers.  Traffic Reports : View traffic reports from the past 3 calendar months.

22 V.05312008 |© OverDrive, Inc. 2008 | Page 22 Reactivate a Download A borrower might report:  A missing download button.  A download error. Why does this happen?  Adobe eBooks: A license can be downloaded one time during a single lending period.  OverDrive Video: A license can be downloaded two times during a single lending period.  OverDrive Audio Titles: A license can be downloaded three times during a single lending period. A license for a checked out title is downloaded when a borrower clicks the 'download' button.

23 V.05312008 |© OverDrive, Inc. 2008 | Page 23 Reactivate a Download Use Content Reserve to reactivate a download: 1. You will need the borrower's library card number and title. 2. Login to Content Reserve: Reports Tab > Search Checkouts. 3. Enter the library card number. The 'Checkout Details' page appears. 4. Click 'View' next to the title you wish to reactivate. 5. Under 'Reactivate Checkout', enter a reason (required for Adobe eBooks). 6. Click 'Reactivate'. 7. The title can now be downloaded.
