1 “Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him.” - II Cor. 5:9 “…we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God; for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus.” - I Thess. 4:1,2 “…that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.” - Col. 1:9,10 “Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.” - Eph. 5:8-10

2  How can you know if a certain action is pleasing to God or not? ARE YOU LIVING TO PLEASE THE LORD?

3 “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” - Heb. 11:6 ”So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” - Rom. 10:17 ”For we walk by faith, not by sight.” - II Cor. 5:7 We must live by the word of God to please Him! “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” – Col. 3:17

4 ARE YOU LIVING TO PLEASE THE LORD?  Are you walking by faith consistently when ascertaining whether certain actions are pleasing to God or not? We must live by the word of God to please Him!  Please number your page from 1 – 24.

5 Gen. 6:14 (1) Would Noah have pleased God had he used both gopher & oak wood to build the ark? Lev. 1:2,3 (2) Would the Israelites have pleased God had they offered both male & female animals as burnt offerings? We must live by the word of God to please Him!

6 Num. 20:7-12 (3) Did Moses please God when he struck the rock at Kadesh instead of speaking to it? Exo. 17:5,6 (4) If an action pleases God at one point in time, can we automatically know that it will always please Him? We must live by the word of God to please Him!

7 II Sam. 6:2-9 (5) Did Uzzah please God when he touched the ark in order to prevent it from falling off the cart? Acts 23:1; 9:4,5 (6) If a person acts with a good conscience & motive, can we automatically know such will please God? We must live by the word of God to please Him!

8 Num. 4:15 (7) Although only one family is mentioned, could anyone carry the tabernacle items and please God? I Chr. 15:2,13-15 (8) After studying, did David believe that men could please God by doing whatever had not been prohibited? We must live by the word of God to please Him!

9 Lev. 10:1-3 (9) Did Nadab & Abihu please God when they used fire that He had neither commanded nor prohibited? We must live by the word of God to please Him!

10 Acts 8:38 (10) Can we please God today by immersing & sprinkling for baptism? We must live by the word of God to please Him! I Cor. 11:26 (11) Can we please God today by using unleavened bread & Pepsi for communion? Heb. 13:15,16 (12) Can we please God today by praising Him with both voices & mechanical instruments? 11 (13) If a person is sprinkled with a good conscience & motive, can we know such will please God? We must live by the word of God to please Him! (14) If a person uses Pepsi for communion with a good conscience & motive, can we know such will please God? (15) If a person worships with a good conscience & motive, can we know such will please God? A GOOD HEART?

12 (16) Although only immersion is mentioned, could sprinkling also be pleasing to God for baptism? We must live by the word of God to please Him! (17) Although the only beverage mentioned for communion is fruit of the vine, could Pepsi also be pleasing to God? (18) Although only singing is mentioned today, could mechanical instruments also be pleasing to God in worship? ONLY 1 IS MENTIONE D?

13 (19) Since sprinkling has not been prohibited in Scripture for baptism, can we please God by practicing it? We must live by the word of God to please Him! (20) Since Pepsi has not been prohibited in Scripture for communion, can we please God by using it? (21) Since mechanical instruments have not been prohibited in Scripture for worship, can we please God by using them? NOT PROHIBITE D?

16 We must live by the word of God to please Him!  How did you answer the questions?  Are you consistent?  If you think I’m wrong…  If you are uncertain…  Are we living by the word of God with the purpose of pleasing Him?

17 I Cor. 1:10 (24) When a matter cannot be proven with the New Testament to be both right & necessary, can we please God by splitting the church over it? We must live by the word of God to please Him!
