Perimeter & Area Of A Triangle. By: Pd.1 Benchmark: MA.6.8.2: Use coordinate geometric to represent and analyze properties of geometric shapes.

Definition! Perimeter is the distance around a shape. Area is the space inside or taken up by the shape. Area=( ) BxH Perimeter=the sum of all the sides.

Example/ Drawing Perimeter = 16 in (5+5+6) Area = 12 in 2 (6x4)/2 5 in b=6 in h=4 in

Question Figure out what the perimeter and area of the triangle? 10 in b=12 in h=8 in

Solution The area of the triangle is 48in 2 because 12x8=96 and then follow the formula and you divide it by 2 and you get 48in 2. The perimeter is 32in because if you add all the slides up you get 32in.
