2  There are different types of names in sentences, they can be of people, places or things. We like to call this names nouns, but how do we change those nouns in a sentences if want to? To change a noun in a sentence we use the PRONOUNS. The pronouns replace a noun in a sentence, there are different types of pronouns that can be use. 2

3  After learning the different types of pronouns, the students will apply them in a multiple choice exercise of ten(10) items. 3

4  Pronouns are used to replace a noun in sentence. When we want to change the name of a noun we use the pronouns. Example:  Carlos and I went to the park yesterday. We went to the park yesterday.  Pedro sings very well. He sings very well. 4

5  There are some pronouns that are some of the most used pronouns in sentences.  Here are those pronouns in Spanish and English form. IYo HeEl SheElla ItEso ( Objeto, Animal) TheyEllos WeNosotros YouTu, Ustedes 5

6  I= We use I when we talk about ourselves. I like to go swimming. I run in the park every day. 6

8  Carlos is jumping on the bed. He is jumping on the bed.  Pedro will go tomorrow. He will go tomorrow. 8

9  She= She is used when we talk about a female person. ( woman, girl) She Click Here for examples 9

11  It= It is used to replace an animal or a thing. It Click here for examples 11

13  They= They is used when we want to replace more than one person in a sentence. If the noun consists of two people or more, the pronoun they is used. They Click here for examples 13

14  John and Luis are playing tennis. They are playing tennis.  Jessica and Pedro play a lot in the park. They play a lot in the park.  Juan, Jose, Eric, Carlos, Tyler, Stuart and Michael are in church. They are in church. 14

15  Remember: It is used when you replace one animal or thing. If that animal or thing is in plural form( is more than one), then you will use they instead of it. Click here for examples 15

17  We= we is used to replace more than one person that includes you.  Michael and I went home. We went home.  Jose and I are good friends. We are good friends. 17

18 Remember:  There are several types of pronouns: Some of them are subject, object, possessive and reflexive pronouns. The rules for using all this pronouns are the same. The only thing that changes is the form. 18

19  Subject pronouns usually are at the beginning of the sentences and work as the subject( who or what the sentence is about). The subject pronouns are the same as the basic pronouns. They always are before the verb in a sentence. They work the same way as the basic pronouns. 19

20  Maria and I are going away. We are going away.  The cat runs very fast. It runs very fast.  Omar swims in the pool. He swims in the pool. 20

24  Object pronouns work the same way as the basic pronouns or subject pronouns. They are used usually at the end of a sentence or after the verb.  Jose plays with Pedro. He plays with him.  Maria likes John and Jose. She likes Them. 24

26  Remember! Subject pronouns goes before the verb in a sentence and the object pronoun goes after the verb in a sentence. 26

30  Possessive Pronouns replace a noun that is in form of ownership, when that noun owns something. This pronoun can be used anywhere in the sentence. They have the same rules as the other pronouns. 30

35  Reflexive Pronouns follow the noun in a sentence. They are used when the sentence goes back to the beginning or back to the noun or pronoun. The reflexive pronoun in a sentence is connected to the noun or pronoun in the sentence. 35

39 Remember: You will use the noun in the sentence to know what reflexive pronoun you are going to use.  For example: If the pronouns for the noun is he, then the reflexive pronoun will be himself.  Just follow the reflexive pronoun table. 39
