Website/ Online applications training Ned Supplementary Courses: Aimed at Grade 7 & 8 classrooms in preparation for High School entry. 3 Youth ICT Employment Program Is to provide support for the development and use of internet-based communications systems within First Nation Schools across Ontario by increasing the integration of ICT into learning settings. As a part of this integration, the Youth Worker works with on-site supervisor to identify ICT needs and express these needs on our on- line meeting place (www.yict.knet.ca).www.yict.knet.ca The K.O. – KNet team then provides training to address those ICT issues identified whether it be, networking support and management, video conferencing support, website development, computer hardware and software support, and data management. This program is open to ALL First Nation Schools in Ontario.

10 Dadavan Student Information System “Outcomes” Used in the Atlantic Region Developed with the Micmac First Nation Schools Web based data management system Provides some solutions for First Nation Schools such as Nominal Roll Reports, and Language Immersion Use of Open Source Software that K-Net can support.

11 Key Modules of OUTCOMES Student Information Page provides a 'snapshot' overview of each student's information which can easily be accessed by the school administration Staff Information Page is an easy way to record teachers' personal and professional data. Attendance Module is an easy-to-use, quick online attendance program which also generates a wide-range of customized attendance reports. Reports Module generates customized reports and assessment/demographic tables which contribute to the measurement of performance in the priority areas. Mark Book Module is a numerical based teacher mark book which transfers marks directly to report cards, eliminating entry errors. Report Card Module has several features to help with ease and efficiency of report card writing, such as creating a comment bank with an automatic pronoun and name adjustment, enabling each report card to be personalized.

12 Key Modules of OUTCOMES IPP/IEP Module enables the development and progress of individual program plans for students. Admin Module enables users with admin security permissions to have access to the entire student information system. Behavior Module provides an opportunity for schools to document and track all behavior issues within each school and to notify the person(s) in charge of behavior of each incident. Parent Page is a communication tool which enhances communications with parents enabling them to have access to their children's school information concerning courses, marks, behavior issues, attendance, contact information and more. Nominal Roll provides pertinent information required by the school, bands, and INAC such as student retention, financial, special education, and post secondary pursuits. Teacher Planner is an electronic plan book for period-by-period lesson plan development. Reading Recovery Module tracks the objectives and progress of elementary-aged students who are experiencing challenges in literacy.

14 Training and Support K-Net uses and supports online training environments for KiHS, G-8 Supplementary Courses and the Youth Employment Program. Uses a combination of email, videoconferencing, discussion forums, application sharing, and more. Everything gets documented online for future reference. http://meeting.knet.ca
