Warmup: Friday Aug 21 OBJ: SWBAT use the scientific method to solve problems  What are the 5 steps in the scientific method?  Answer on page 4 in journal.

Acid Rain and Beans  Problem: How does acid rain affect the growth of plants?  Hypothesis: If I plant beans in 2 different cups, then the one I water with vinegar water will ______________.  OBJ: SWBAT use the scientific method to solve problems

Procedure  1. Get cup and label with name and EITHER: water OR acid  2. Fill cup half way with soil.  3. Get bean.  4. Plant bean  5. water cup with EITHER: water or acid  6. Put plant into foil container

Growth of Bean Day Water only Vinegar water

Variables define in journal  Independent variable  Dependent variable  Constant  Control  Hypothesis
