2  Rule 1. Use a colon to introduce a series of items. Do not capitalize the first item after the colon (unless it's a proper noun).  Examples: You may be required to bring many things: sleeping bags, pans, utensils, and warm clothing. I want the following items: butter, sugar, and flour. I need an assistant who can do the following: input data, write reports, and complete tax forms. Grammar  Our tool box contains the following a hammer, a wrench, and a chisel.  The garden is filled with the following flowers violets, daisies, and roses.  In English we read the following plays Our Town, The Glass Menagerie, and A Raisin in the Sun.  Our tour included the following a wax museum; an art gallery; and a library.

How are they arranged? What other details do you see?  Knowledge: Summarize what you know about the situation and time period shown in the photograph.  Interpretation: Describe the action in the photograph. Based on your observations, what can you conclude about this event or time period?  Additional questions: What is missing or not shown in this photograph? What would you like to see? What cannot be captured in the medium of photography?
