3 Main Characters Physical description Character traits (on the inside) Events that change or effect the main characters Quotes that describe the main characters (optional) How might the main characters change from the beginning of the story to the end of the story?

4 Setting Describe the MAIN setting of the story - Describe it - Explain how the author uses it - Is it important?

5 Conflict and Resolution What was the overall problem that the main character was trying to solve? What steps did they take to fix it? How was the problem finally solved?

6 Plot Summary Give a summary of your book Someone, wanted, but, so…… Include your main character, problem, how they try to fix it. You may not want to give away the ending! Brainpop Jr. on plot

7 Theme Explain the life lesson that you learned through the story. Explain how you knew this was the theme. Give evidence from the text that support this theme.

8 Literary Devices Choose a few of your favorite literary devices (figurative language) found within the story. Include the page number, type of figurative language, and the direct quote from the text. Explain the meaning behind your example. This compares a __________ to a _________ using the word like, therefore it is a simile.

9 Opinion Write a paragraph explaining your opinion about the book. Did you like, love it, hate it, and why? This will encourage or discourage future readers.
