Department of Homeland Security -(2003) purpose is to protect the security of America from threats (b/c of 9/11) -Secret Service: protects VIPs -Coast Guard -Immigration -Customs -Transportation Security Administration -FEMA: Federal Emergency Management Agency: helps protect places where state and local gov’t can’t help.: natural disasters Hurricanes or Bin Laden
