READER’S CHOICE BOOK REPORT PROJECT HOW TO CREATE YOUR BOOK REPORT PROJECT

FIRST THINGS FIRST… The purpose of the book report is to tell everyone in your class about the book you read, so that they can decide if they would like to read it too! Choose a format with which to share your book! Format Options: 1) PowerPoint Presentation 2) Poster 3) Blog/Listicle

THE BASICS Plot summary must include: Exposition (setting, situation) Main characters (with an explanation of their characterization) Motivation Conflict Resolution (The best book reports will not reveal the actual ending of the book, but will instead explain the climax and then stop, so that your classmates can read the book to find out what happens in the end)

THE GOOD STUFF What genre was your book a part of? (fiction, nonfiction, biography, historical fiction, horror, mystery, etc.) What was the theme (life lesson) of the book? Did it remind you of any other books you have read? How so? What is your review of (opinion about) the book? Would you recommend the book to anyone else?

PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER… Every bulleted point in this PPT should have AT LEAST ONE slide in your presentation, or a section on your poster, or a number on your listicle. You will also present your project to the class. If you have a PPT or a listicle, you can use the SMARTboard to show your project to the class. If you create a poster, you must bring it up in front of the class. You must make it large enough for the class to see.

START EARLY Technological difficulties of any kind will NOT be accepted as a reason for a late project. No exceptions. Each day that your project is late will take 10 points off of your score.
