1 Making the Connections – Seeing the interdependencies in our world

2  Energy is one important way many of the things we see and interact with every day are connected, and sometimes one of the hardest to see.  Energy-based definitions:  Source – something that releases energy and is the source for energy producers  Producer – something that uses the energy from a source to create a new form of energy that is usable by many consumers  Consumer – something that uses this converted energy in order to function. Can be at different levels

4  Key idea – energy was an example  Many different parts of a system depend on each other in more than one way  When even one connection is lost, a system can fail

5  Simplicity is used to single out an item or items from their surrounding for particular emphasis.

6  Framing is used to bring the focus of the image to the desired subject. Adds depth and perspective to image.

13  Five pictures at each location max, you can take less  Try to get two images that demonstrate each composition concept (1 for either Rule of Thirds or Diagonal Method)  We’ll come back and choose 3 of the best taken for each person for the critique  Printing and then web-building!
