4 Why have a Parent Meeting To provide information and communicate procedures to parents for a smooth fall season.

8 Parent/Student Expectations Promote Positive Sportsmanship No Derogatory Cheering Support All Athletes Keep in mind coaches make decisions to utilize the athletes for the best interest of the team Artificial noisemakers and signs are prohibited by PIAA. Rally towels are permitted only at outdoor events. Do Not Attend Athletic Events Under the Influence of Drugs or Alcohol

9 Parent/Student Transportation Students should be riding the bus to and from competitions. Special circumstances will be dealt with on an individual basis. Coaches will review the procedure with parents and athletes. At no time are athletes permitted to drive themselves to/from a competition. Parents are only permitted to transport their own student athlete. Cannot car pool.

10 Eligibility Player must be failing 2 subjects to be considered ineligible for competition Eligibility runs from Saturday midnight to Saturday midnight Eligibility is determined on Friday afternoon of each week by 3 pm. Once a student is deemed ineligible, an academic plan goes into place Only errors in computing the grade will be reviewed. Missed work is not an error.

11 Eligibility (Cont’d) Athlete may participate in practice during ineligible period. Athlete MAY NOT participate in or travel with team to away competitions. Athlete may be on the bench for home competitions but must be in street clothes. If athlete fails two or more courses for a report card, he/she is ineligible for 15 school days.

12 Attendance Student athletes are expected to attend school everyday. If a student is not in school, he/she may not participate in either practice or a competition. If a student arrives late to school, he/she must be in attendance no later than 10:49 am. If they arrive after that time, they are excluded from participation in either practice or competition. If a student is leaving early, he/she must be in attendance at least until 10:49 am to be eligible. Special circumstances will be dealt with on an individual basis. For example: specialists appointments, funerals, college visits If a student leaves school to go home sick that student is not permitted to attend practice or a competition that day.

13 Final Thoughts The Athletic Department thanks you for your continued support of your student athletes. We appreciate the time, effort and money you put in to providing the best opportunity for your son/daughter to be successful. We look forward to a successful fall sports season.
