4. The Post Event Report Renate from Belgium Participating in Comenius projects demands an open mind. Being eager to learn, to discover, to share are probably important characteristics of the people involved. Going to Palermo was quite an experience : discovering a beautiful island with a great history and great culture; meeting open, warm-hearted people; seeing enthousiast students who want to meet teachers from all over Europe. It was quite a revelation : all those people full of " lust for life ". Comenius is great : the experiences make you feel part of a big European nation, north and south, east and west." Visit of the city toured by our students who were our guests’ local guides After discussing the most urgent and important issues of the project, we had a great cultural tour in the city of Palermo, Sicily. We were astonished and amazed to be able to see at least some spectacular places of interest in this outstanding city. 10. Exciting to note was the exurburant splendour of the city of Palermo with its wide avenues, majestic buildings and the culture of centuries gone by. The city is much larger and impressing than we ever expected it to be. Rich in culture, very much alive and with a very large population - even bigger than our capital city of Amsterdam. Both exciting and stunning we found the traffic in Palermo especially after midnight. During the bustling night life of Palermo the traffic seems to be even more frantic than by daylight. 11. 28 October Working session in the morning. We were very attentive and tried to grasp any word uttered by our wonderful coordinator Mrs. Ida Mariolo. 12. In the afternoon second visit toured by our students The project was presented to Dott. La Menza the Chairman of Education for the Province of Palermo. 13. Full day excursion to Monreale and Cefalù. 29May We were touched by marvelous countryside and beautiful views we were able to see.
