3 We know that words are made up of sounds. We put words together by blending the sounds together. Lets blend the sounds to make words.

11 Pet Show! Remember, the setting of a story is where and when the story happens. Tell me what you remember about this story. As I read today listen to see if you can tell where the story takes place. Read story.

12 Pet Show! Where does this story happen? When is the story happening? How do you think Archie feels when he can’t find the cat? How do you think he feels when he wins a blue ribbon for the germ? Would you like to have Archie as a friend? Let’s us our retelling cards to retell the story.

14 Robust Vocabulary sturdy Would a chair be sturdy if it had a leg broken?

15 Robust Vocabulary famished If you are famished, are you sleepy of hungry?

16 Description of a Place Yesterday we described the library. Today we are going to describe another place. Remember a description uses words to tell what something is like.

17 Description of a Thing First, I will write the name of the place I am going to describe. Next, I will think about what that place is like. Then I will think of other words that tell about the place.
